Some of Ael's incarnations include a lonely child, catholic altar boy, communist soldier, waiter, black market dealer, thief, cheat, immigrant, dishwasher, academic, clinical psychologist, slam poet, arts organizer, CBC radio columnist, playwright, songwriter, canoeist, boater, brother, father, husband, and lover of Canadian Shield stone.
Starting on January 1, 2018, one song a week, Ael recorded and released demos of 52 original songs that echo his various incarnations.
In 2023, on his 60th birthday, Ael released his first song collection 'Stone,' an ode to the immense Canadian Shield granite rock.
